If you are unable to attend on the specified date, it is your responsibility to locate a replacement. * President Grace Martins conducted the meeting .
* Grace welcomed everyone. We had 2 guests today. George Raiche, Bob's son and Sean Kelly from Metro Credit Union and potential new member.
* Fred reported about the annual meeting in Bermuda. He said there were a few break out sessions. He thanked Loring for his donation of a airplane ride and said it was a big hit. The best part of the trip was visiting the homes of the Rotarians of Bermuda. Next years meeting will be held in Boston and we hope to have a great turn out from our club.
* Mel continues to collect bottle & cans, please see Mel if you have any questions.
* Grace talked about the International Festival and if anyone was interested in chairing that committee. Cathy Gravel, Peggy Pedro and Peggy Lyons all volunteered to organize the event for the Rotary table . More information will follow along with a sign-up sheet, we will need shifts covered.
* Grace talked about our annual dinner. She is planning to have it on June 21st at Giovanni's Acores Cuisine in Beverly. It is Grace's sisters place.
* Guest speaker was George Raiche. George is a real live Rocket scientist. He is a graduate of Danvers High School, Colby College and Dartmouth College. He taught Chemistry at Hamilton College until moving to the west coast. There he took a job with NASA. George was very interesting talking about the various aspects of his job. He said he works very closely with many Astronauts. He talked about the "famous" heat tiles and the improvements that are being made on them. There were many question for George and he was very happy to answer them. Thank you to George for a very interesting talk.
* Grace asked the Board to stay for a brief meeting to vote on a few things.
*May 22nd meeting will be at Spinelli's .
