As President Grace is leading the District's GSE Team in Brazil, President-Elect Steve Morad ran today's meeting. No recent e-mails from Grace. She must be having a great time--maybe she met a guy and got married? The next Board meeting will be on June 16th, 5:00PM, at Cathy Gravel's office. Steve passed around a sign-up sheet for his installation dinner (and year-end celebration) to be held on FRIDAY, June 20th at Spero's Sports Pub(Allenhurst). It will have a sports theme with plenty of entertainment. Everyone's encouraged to wear sports theme clothing. Steve will send out a sign-up sheet to all with the details. Please make every effort to attend this special event. June 26th is the date of the District's Installation Dinner at the Danversport Yacht Club. Steve also sent around a sheet requesting donations (Loring will bill you) to help the victims of hte Peabody Fire on Dearborn Street. The club will match the total. If you haven't signed the sheet, contact Loring to do so.

President-Elect Steve introduced guest speaker Steve Smith. He handed out a well-done Peabody Rotary flyer that he produced. Every member should be handing these out as you speak with prospective members. Steve intentionally did not include a contact name or number--put YOUR information on the flyer. We bounced around benefits of being a member of Peabody Rotary--easy way to give back to the community; there's leverage in your giving; fellowship among Rotarians--make connections; make a difference in teh community and the world. Steve asked that you review the Chamber of Commerce and City Hall lists and let him know whom you'll contact. On June 17th, we'll have our scholarship recipients and RYLA attendees at our meeting. This will be a great time to invite guests!! Be sure to let President Steve know that you've inviting people so we have adequate seats. Another way to attract prospective members is through our speakers. So if you have any speaker suggestions, tell Gayle Cavanaugh. Remember--the better our programming, the more prospective members we can attract.

Peggy Pedro, Cathy Gravel, Herb Harris and Fred deNapoli all told of their experiences at the District Conference. Fred was honored for the work he put into the event; Reverend Bob Barber was memorialized with others from the district who had passed away this past year; the sessions were superb; Cathy made and displayed a great collage poster of Peabody Rotary; connections were made and ideas stolen to help our club.
*
President Grace asked that you send her your information and photo to be used at the June Installation Dinner. She had e-mailed everyone a questionnaire.
*
Would you like to help Mel Babner deliver food for the Citizens For Adequate Housing families, temporarily housed in Salem? Future delivery dates will be June 19th and July 17th. Anyone who would like to help Mel, please contact him.
*
What do you do with your empty bottles and cans? (And we know there must be a lot of empty beer cans and bottles.) Please bring them (both beer and soda) to the meetings every week to give to Mel Babner. Every nickel helps!! Mel Thanks Gayle Cavanaugh and Eastern Bank for the generous contributions.
*
Our speaker scheduler, Gayle Cavanaugh, is asking that you tell her of any people who may want to speak to the club or whom you think may be of interest to the club.
*
Happy Dollars: Sergeant-at-arms Jeff Doherty collected $58.
Reminder: If you see any news articles or pictures of our members, bring them in so the member can donate $$$ to the club. We can use the money!! But more important--we'd like to recognize and applaud our members.
*
50-50 Raffle: The pool was $64. Neither Cathy Gravel nor Loring Merrow picked the Queen of Spades.

It's easy to become a Rotary Sustaining member. It's $100 per year, but Loring can bill you $25 per quarter. That's $8.33 a month, or 28 CENTS a day, or a little over a penny an hour.
LET'S BECOME A 100% SUSTAINING MEMBER CLUB!!
" Let us keep our hearts strong, enthusiasm fresh, hope high. As long as we keep imbued with this spirit, Rotary can never die."
The Rotarian, August 1926
THE 4-WAY TEST of the things we think, say or do:
1. IS IT THE TRUTH? 2. IS IT FAIR TO ALL CONCERNED? 3. WILL IT BUILD GOODWILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIP? 4. WILL IT BE BENEFICAL TO ALL CONCERNED?
The wife heard her husband come back into the house not too long after he had left.
She said, "Hon, I thought you were going to your lodge meeting."
"It was postponed." he replied. "The wife of the Grand High-Exalted-Invincible-Supreme-Potentate wouldn't let him stay out late." DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU ON THE 20TH--BRING YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER TO THE INSTALLATION DINNER AT SPERO'S!!
