President Steve reminded us of our sponsorship of the Peabody Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours to be held on Wednesday, February 11th, from 5:30PM to 7:30PM at the Peabody Marriott, who will be co-sponsoring the event with our club. THERE WILL BE NO MEETING THE NEXT MORNING, FEBRUARY 12TH. So be sure to attend this event!!

President Steve mentioned that the Polio Plus campaign will be ending today. The District's goal with the pillowcase collections is $1,000 per club. So far we've collected over $700.

President Steve reminded us that we need to find a new Host family for our exchange student from Colombia, Martin. Apparently, the State Department says that exchange students must stay at more than one family during their time in the US. The Host family does not necessarily have to be a Rotarian family, so ask your friends and neighbors. Cathy Gravel is also looking for members to help by inviting Martin to join them on the weekends. Anyone who helps--whether as a host family or as an hour sponsor--must be CORI'd--all members of the family who are at least 18 years old.

Our District Simplified Grant project is targeted to take place on Saturday, April 25th. It will be a Bike Safety Day. We'll be giving out 250 bike helmets and Guard-a-kid will be preparing identification kits and CD's for all children. There also will be bike safety training. Be sure to save the date.This is a club service project so all Rotarians need to paticipate. Cathy asked for members to sign up to be part of the committee. To date Peg Lyons, Grace and Steve Morad have voluntered.

Cathy reported that the scholarship applications have been sent out to several area High schools. The due date for applications is April 15th. Steve Smith will send information press release to the media.

President Steve asked everyone if they need Taste of the North Shore tickets. When you sell tickets (and collect the money) be sure to give the stubs and payments to either Mike Tallo or Loring. The Taste is approaching fast.
Cathy reported that we have 12 confirmed Restaurants. Many email, letters nad faxes were sent out and now follow up phone calls will take place.
Cathy reported that Peg is looking for someone to take over the ad book due to her accident. She will be out of work for 4-6 weeks.
Nicloe and Joanne will run the raffle & auction. If you have any donations please get them to Joanne or Nicole. President Steve will send out information on a new flier with ad rates. He asked everyone to send to anyone they know who may take out an ad.

What do you do with your empty bottles and cans? (And we know there must be a lot of empty beer cans and bottles.) Please bring them (both beer and soda) to the meetings every week to give to Mel. Every nickel helps!! Mel Thanks Dick Berg and North Shore Bank for their generous contributions.
